(11/17/2024) How To Be A Sheep Among Wolves
Until the mini-commission and “sending out” of the disciples recorded in Matthew 10, the Twelve listed in 10:2–4 remained mostly behind the scenes. They watched their Master while standing back in security. His loving care and concern protected them from spiritual evil and physical disaster. As He taught, they listened safely; as He dealt with criticism, they never felt threatened. As He healed the sick, cast out demons, and raised the dead, their confidence in His unquestioned authority over everything gave them comfort and confidence. But no longer.
It was time for them to step up, move out into the real world, and face similar settings to those Jesus had been facing. Though their initial assignment would not last long, they would at least get their first taste of real-world ministry, no longer as observers or followers, but as doers and leaders. Thank you for joining us at Cross Waves Church.
