The last four beatitudes are “beatitudes of action,” actions that are pleasing to God because they are helpful to others. Each day, you must decide which kind of world you want to live in: the kind that anticipates the coming kingdom, in which you live as salt and light in keeping with that kingdom’s ideals, or the type of world where life is bland and decaying fast, with people heading into the darkness and having no hope in eternity?
