Why Christians Don’t Wear Masks

Why do people not attend church? There are many reasons one might hear, but the one I have heard the most is, “I don’t go to church because the church is filled with hypocrites.”

First, we plead guilty as charged. The church is full of sinners who sin in all sorts of ways, including hypocrisy. Second, we recognize that hypocrisy is a sin to which we are susceptible. Jesus addresses hypocrisy in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6. Interestingly, the word hypocrite occurs more than a dozen times in the first gospel. It is an issue that concerns our Lord, and it should concern us. Thank you for joining us at Cross Waves Church.
