What Is The Altitude God Wants Us To Be?
This week, we examine the first four beatitudes, which one scholar calls “beatitudes of need.” These beatitudes point out that we need God. Contrary to popular opinion, blessed does not mean “happy,” even though some translations have rendered it this way. Happiness is a subjective state, a feeling. But Jesus does not declare how people feel; instead, he states what God thinks of them. "Blessed is" a favorable judgment by God on the individual that means “to be approved” or “to find approval.” So when God blesses us, he approves us. Thank you for joining us at Cross Waves Church.
In this week’s joke, A husband and wife working for the circus go to an adoption agency looking to adopt a child, but the social worker isn’t sure they’ll fit the job.
